All this talk about preachers

reminds me of a parable.

If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.

If you teach a man to fish, he'll drink beer all day.

No, wait. That wasn't the right one.

Why do you always invite two Baptists to go fishing?

'Cause if there's only one, he'll drink all the beer.

I knew it was something about fishing and beer.

And religion.

Comments:
I just ran across a slew of cycling quotes (at Bike Snob NYC).

But this one specifically seemed to fit:

"Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring." –Desmond Tutu

Not quite sure what Covey would say about that (it's his fault I follow this blog...)

There are several hilarious ones (see Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote..) but try this one on:

"If, during the Second World War, the United States had retooled its factories for manufacturing bicycles instead of munitions, we’d be one of the healthiest, least oil-dependent, and most environmentally-sound constituents in the Nazi empire today." –Ralph Nader

Who knows if any of those are real attributable quotes, but they should be!

Sorry to hijack this to bikes, but what is there in life besides fishing, beer, and cycling?

Ha!

Not a hijack at all. Fish and bicycles go together like beer and religion.
